Tahoe Flight Academy LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates tahoeflightacademy.com and provides flight instruction in Reno, Nevada and the surrounding region. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what choices you have.

We are a one-person flight instruction business. We do not sell information, we do not run advertising, and we collect very little.

Information you give us

When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, phone number, email address, your stated flying experience, whether you own an aircraft, and whatever you write in the message field. We collect this because we need it to respond to you and to understand whether we are a good fit for your training goals.

If you contact us by phone, text, or email instead, we receive whatever you choose to share in that conversation.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider records standard server information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, and the site that referred you. This is ordinary web server activity and is used for security and reliability.

We use Google Search Console to see how this site performs in search results — which search terms show our pages, how often they are clicked, and whether any pages have indexing problems. Search Console reports this to us in aggregate. It places nothing on your device and tells us nothing about you as an individual.

Fonts on this site are loaded from Google’s font service, which receives your IP address as part of delivering them.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or on-site analytics scripts that track your browsing.

If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy before doing so.

How we use your information

We use what you provide to respond to your inquiry, schedule and deliver flight instruction, arrange billing, keep required training records, and communicate with you about your training. We may also use it to send you occasional information about training availability, courses, or aviation topics. If we do, every message will include a way to opt out, and you can also tell us to stop at any time by replying or emailing us.

Payment information

We accept payment by Zelle, Venmo, cash, or check. We do not process card payments through this website, and we do not collect or store your card numbers or bank account details. When you pay through Zelle or Venmo, that transaction is handled entirely by those services under their own privacy policies and terms.

Training records

If we provide flight instruction to you, we keep records of the instruction given and any endorsements issued. Federal Aviation Regulations require flight instructors to retain these records, and we keep them for at least the period the regulations require. These records may be provided to the FAA in connection with a certificate action, inspection, or investigation.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.

We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf: our website host, which delivers the site and receives contact form submissions; our email provider; and our analytics provider. Each processes information only to provide their service to us.

We may also disclose information where required by law, in response to a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

How long we keep information

We keep contact form submissions and correspondence for as long as needed to respond and maintain a record of the conversation. Client contact information is kept for as long as you are an active client and for a reasonable period afterward. Training records are kept for the period required by Federal Aviation Regulations. You can ask us to delete information we are not legally required to retain.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information such as government identification numbers or financial account details through the contact form.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can opt out of any promotional messages at any time. To make a request, email cole@tahoeflightacademy.com.

Nevada residents have the right under state law to direct us not to sell their personal information. We do not sell personal information, but you may submit a request to the address above and we will honor it.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion, and portability of your information. We apply the rights described above to anyone who asks, regardless of location.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Flight training clients under 18 are enrolled with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Do Not Track

There is no common standard for responding to browser Do Not Track signals, and we do not currently respond to them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
